Vote Today!

Last Thursday, the National Hockey League released the ballots for the 2012 All-Star Game in Ottawa.
Rick Nash, R.J. Umberger, and Jeff Carter were each selected from the Blue Jackets roster. Nash leads the group with five All-Star Game appearances followed by Carter who attended the game in 2009 as a member of the Philadelphia Flyers.
R.J. Umberger has yet to don the All-Star sweater despite putting up impressive numbers since entering the league in 2005. After spending a few years in Philadelphia, the Ohio State alumnus found his niche when he returned to Columbus. In his past three seasons with the Blue Jackets, Umberger has tallied 158 points.
Around the league, four teams had had six players on the ballot. Among them was the defending Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins.
Notable nominees include future hall of famer Jaromir Jagr, the Sedin twins and brothers Eric, Marc, and Jordan Staal. Marc Staal has not played since taking a monstrous hit from older brother Eric on Feb. 22 in a game between the Rangers and Hurricanes.
A clip of the hit can be found here.
Out of the 127 players on the ballot, the top six vote-getters by position (3 Forwards, 2 Defenseman, 1 Goalie) will earn a chance to play in the in the 2012 Tim Hortons All-Star Game.
